In his reply, the author responds to the major point that Dr. Rodin raises regarding his concern about the potential for harm and patient exploitation such as the one described in his paper: an incapacitated analyst coupled with a grateful and accommodating patient. Dr. Brickman addressed this issue by highlighting some of the factors within the dyad that pushed the work in a favorable direction rather toward a catastrophic outcome. He addressed, too, the issue of the illusory nature of informed consent intrinsic to this case report by referring to the context of the analysand's strong urging that Dr. Brickman participate in telling their story. En su respuesta el autor responde el punto central que el Dr. Rodin propone respecto su preocupacion acerca del dano potencial y la posible explotacion del paciente tal como se describe en este trabajo: un analista incapacitado combinado con una paciente agradecida y adaptable. El Dr. Brickman trata este tema destacando alguno de los factores dentro de la diada que impulsaron el trabajo en una direccion favorable en lugar de hacia un resultado catastrofico. Tambien trata el tema de la “naturaleza ilusoria” del consentimiento informado intrinseco en este relato del caso, refiriendose al contexto de la fuerte peticion de la analizando de que el Dr. Brickman contara su historia. Dans cette reponse, l'auteur reagit au point majeur souleve par Dr Rodin concernant sa preoccupation au sujet de la potentialite de dommage a et d'exploitation de la patiente, comme celle qui est decrite dans son article: un analyste incapacite associe a une patiente reconnaissante et accommodante. Dr Brickman aborde cet enjeu en soulignant quelques-uns des facteurs a l'interieur de la dyade qui a fait pencher le travail dans une direction favorable plutot que vers un resultat catastrophique. Dr. Brickman bezieht sich darauf, indem er einige der Faktoren innerhalb der Dyade hervorhebt, die die Arbeit in eine gunstige Richtung fuhrten, anstatt in eine Katastrophe zu munden. Zusatzlich bezieht er sich auf die “illusorische Natur” der auf Information basierenden Zustimmung, die in diesem Fall vorkommt, indem er sich auf den Kontext des starken Wunsches der Patientin bezieht, Dr. Brickman moge sich an einem gemeinsamen Bericht ihrer Geschichte beteiligen.
