Inhoud: An instrument for measuring perceptions of secondary school and community college articulation was developed. A two-phased approach was used to obtain reliability and validity. In the first phase, 38 doctoral students at a medium-sized state university were used to establish stability and internal consistency coefficients. Moderate to high indexes of reliability were found. Then 198 secondary school and community college administrators were surveyed to ascertain construct validity. Two principal measurement constructs were established in the instrument: the status of and desirability of articulation. The instrument offers local administrators a means by which articulation activities between their schools and colleges may be surveyed. Using the resulting data, a master plan for improving the transition of students from the high schools to the community colleges may be formulated.
