The weight gain of Asiatic ox calves/Swiss was evaluated that received three different protein supplements: 30 % multinutritionalblocks, 37 % multi-nutritional blocks and 42 % multi-nutritional blocks of raw protein used with a diet ofAfrican grass (Cynodon plectostachyus). One hundred and twenty Asiatic ox calves/Swiss were used that had an initialweight of 200 kg and were 11 months old. The calves were distributed randomly into four groups: T1 were fed only withAfrican grass (control group); T2 were fed with African grass plus 30 % multi-nutritional blocks and yeast (Sacharomycescerevisiae); T3 African grass plus 37 % multi-nutritional blocks plus yeast and ionóforo (monensina sódica); T4 Africangrass plus 42% multi-nutritional blocks. The measured responses were daily weight gain, weight gain per cycle and dailyfood intake. The experiment lasted for 60 days. The treatment 3 was the best for an efficient and profitable cattle. |
