Emergency room physician Dr. Mark Rosenbloom established PEPID in 1994. Today, there exist whole suites of PEPID products, from PEPID CRC, aimed at supporting the clinical rotation experience of medical students and nurse practitioners, among others, to PEPID ONS, targeting the point-of-care needs of oncology nurses, to PEPID RN, geared towards nurses and nursing students engaged in clinical practice. This column reviews PEPID RN content and its potential future additions. The Drug Database, part of all PEPID suites including PEPID RN, will be compared to Epocrates Rx Online (it includes the same drug reference guide used in Epocrates handheld products such as Epocrates Essentials and Epocrates online drug guides).
