  Librarian as Teacher

Title: Librarian as Teacher
Author: Simmons, Howard L.
Appeared in: College and undergraduate libraries
Paging: Volume 6 (2000) nr. 2 pages 41-44
Year: 2000-04-12
Contents: Though I discovered what it meant to “learn how to learn” as a lifelong student almost fifty years ago, my learning curve about the librarian's role has evolved and grown progressively more sophisticated. My personal contacts with school librarians and later as Executive Director of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education with library deans convinces me now more than ever that the most effective librarians in the new millennium will be those who empower learners and who facilitate the teaching and learning process.
