Examined longitudinally the relations among measures of peer sociometric status and social behavior in preschool and teacher ratings in kindergarten for a group of children originally selected from three diverse day-care settings. The results demonstrated that social preference and alternative status were significantly related to social behavior and were predictive of teacher ratings obtained during kindergarten. Social behavior also strongly predicted kindergarten teacher ratings. |
