An analysis of loss applied to the dielectric loaded waveguide slow wave cyclotron amplifier for the purpose of suppressing oscillations due to reflections from input/output couplers is presented. Both graphite type and ferrite type losses are considered. The appropritate waveguide dispersion relation is derived in the absence of an electron beam for each case and solved for the TEol and TE02, modes. An example attenuator design is also given. |
