In 1991 a 31 item questionnaire was used to survey 177 teacher educators in physical education. Participating academics were located at 19 different government funded tertiary institutions throughout Australia. Respondents rated not only the likelihood that specific changes in teacher education in physical education would occur by the year 2000 but whether such outcomes were desirable. Predictions were mainly consistent with changes evident in current literature. However, some outcomes suggested respondents perceived a climate of threat and vulnerability in the face of recent structural changes to Australian higher education. |
