This paper reports on a small-scale evaluation of an interdisciplinary early education programme for young children with cerebral palsy, in which a change index was used to provide a measure of expectancy. In this way, each child's developmental progress during the programme was compared to prior progress, with each child as his/her own control. Findings pointed to social and fine motor domains as areas where the programme had achieved most impact. Strengths and weaknesses of this evaluation tool for small-scale practitioner research are discussed. |
