A procedure is proposed for calculation of the auxiliary phase for single-phase induction motors. For capacitor stact motors, the size of the wire, the number of turns and the capacitor of the auxiliary phase are determined to meet the starting restraints. The graphical analysis of these restraints leads to a numerical design method, in which, for a given wire size, the number of turns and the capacitor are found at the same time. For split-phase motors, the capacitor is omitted and the method become quite simple. |
