Auteur: Metz, George W.
Verschenen in: Community college journal of research and practice

Jaar: 1999-01
Inhoud: Indiana higher education, particularly the attempts at establishing a two - year comprehensive community college system in Indiana, is considered. Except for Vincennes University, a system of two - year comprehensive community colleges does not exist. Although Indiana does have a statewide vocational - technical college system, the regional and branch campus structure is pervasive in public higher education. The impact and influence of Indiana University, Purdue University, and the Indiana Farm Bureau on the present public higher education model is examined, as are the various commissions and councils and their subsequent recommendations to the Indiana General Assembly. Based on interviews with various higher education personnel in Indiana, the future needs and concerns for Indiana higher education are presented.
