Successful presidents demonstrate a sustained concern for institutional renewal. Continuous and quality efforts at invigoration and renewal should occur with an approximately equal thrust for trustees, administrators, faculty, adjunct faculty, paraprofessionals, secretaries, custodians, and maintenance personnel. In addition, the external publics served by the college should receive continuous interaction with the institution. In many cases institutions have directed their renewal efforts primarily at faculty through staff development programs. Faculty are only one component of the spectrum to whom these efforts should be directed. |
