This paper explores computer-related crime and its dramatic increase in the last twenty years. Areas of focus include the current designations of computer-related crime, possible causes for this dramatic increase in criminal activity, and an examination of the moral standards of the computer criminal. Of principal interest is the issue of the responsibility of community colleges to teach individuals not only the mechanics of computer use, but also the moral implications inherent in that use. Finally, a set of suggested course objectives is presented, designed to facilitate the development of a course dealing with these complex and vitally important issues. |
