COMMUNITY COLLEGE INSTRUCTORS' ATTITUDES TOWARD LEARNING RESOURCE CENTERS AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES

Jaar: 1987
Inhoud: The purpose of this study was to collect information on faculties' use of community college services which support instructional innovation and development. A questionnaire was sent to 124 full time community college instructors who were randomly selected from 29 community colleges in the southeastern United States. The most surprising outcome of this survey was the apparent lack of use of and interest in instructional development by the respondents. This fact is unusual because of the support and publicity of this concept from all quarters in the instructional technology field. The most frequent suggestion for improvement for the Learning Resource Center (LRC) was a request for continued updating of instructional materials. The second most recorded response was a desire to increase the LRC staff. Other faculty suggestions on LRC improvements include: providing instruction for faculty and providing additional service assistance.
