Though most acceptable estimates of parameters in the Poisson, binomial and negative-binomial distributions have the same large-sample distributions as the maximum likelihood estimates, unlike maximum likelihood estimates they are median-unbiased. Tables and fast converging asymptotic formulae are given for these estimates. |
