A model for the joint distribution of paired survival times (Xj:, Yj:) based on certain natural assumptions appropriate for biological data generated in clinical trial type settings is derived and characterized. Using this model, the distribution of T=Y/X is found. Both a consistent estimator and an unbiased estimator of ΞΆ, the parameter of the distribution of T, are obtained. |
