Research into bargaining is complicated by the fact that bargaining occurs actually at two levels: one relating to the issues to be addressed; one relating to the bargaining event itself. The essay alludes to an affirmative action case and discusses the situation from each of these two interwoven levels. Weick's general approach to organizing and even his specific invocation of the jazz metaphor serve as ways of enacting the understanding of bargaining processes. |
