TV violence and childhood aggression: A curmudgeon's guide

Title: TV violence and childhood aggression: A curmudgeon's guide
Author: Duhs, L. A.
Gunton, R. J.
Appeared in: Australian psychologist
Paging: Volume 23 (1988) nr. 2 pages 183-195
Year: 1988-07-01
Contents: By bringing to bear a number of critical issues from the literatures of economics and the philosophy of science upon the empirical findings about the impact of televised violence in the psychology literature, this paper proceeds in curmudgeonly vein to the conclusion that no particular policy advice is sustainable on the basis of the empirical research presently to hand. Concern is expressed that policy makers may even be misled by present empirical findings towards proposing seemingly meaningful, but actually inconsequential or even counterproductive regulations.
