Contents: Supported LaCoO3 and LaMnO3 perovskites were prepared by different synthesis procedures.Chosen carrier was Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 solid solution. All catalysts were thoroughly characterized bySBET, XRD and XPS. Catalytic activity with time-on-stream was evaluated for completeoxidation of methane in the presence of 20ppm of SO2. The most robust catalysts were thoseprepared starting from citrate precursors that had increased resistance to deactivation withrespect to the corresponding unsupported peroskite. Some factors responsible for perovskitedeactivation in the presence of SO2 are presented.
