Radial glial cells as neuronal precursors: a new perspective on the correlation of morphology and lineage restriction in the developing cerebral cortex of mice 1 1 Please note the highly relevant work by Miyata et al., 2001, that appeared after submission of this article. The work by Miyata and colleagues demonstrates beautifully the asymmetric division of radial glial cells with one daughter transforming into a neuron as suggested in our article.
