Assessment of contemporary social phobia verbal report instruments 1 This research was supported in part by an award from the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST #HRO-023) awarded to Daniel W. McNeil and an award from the National Institute of Mental Health (MH44119) to Richard G. Heimberg. Portions of these data were presented at the annual convention of the Association for Advancement of Behavior Therapy, Boston, MA (1992, November). This study is part of a larger project on social phobia. Data from these research participants are also presented in McNeil et al. (1995)and Boone et al. (in press). Other graduate students, in addition to some of the authors and undergraduate research associates from the Anxiety and Psychophysiology Research Laboratory at Oklahoma State University, were an important part of this research and a larger project on social phobia. We are especially grateful for their support during this study. 1
