Contents: Thriving organizations have an increasing demand for faster and more predictable innovation. Conventional innovation models may fail to deliver business results due to their trial and error, risky, and unpredictable nature. Structured innovation models may provide faster and more predictable innovations. One such innovation model is the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ). The Information Technology (IT) Services industry is decades old and affects virtually all organizations as well as the global economy as a whole. Most organizations benefit from insights into the future of IT Services for strategic planning purposes. In this article, TRIZ is used to predict the next big things in IT Services. Our TRIZ analysis concluded that the future of IT Services will be highly automated; the solutions will be transparent to the users; the workforce required will be substantially smaller; and costs will be lower despite increases in service levels.
