Organizational structure and its impact upon information management

Title: Organizational structure and its impact upon information management
Author: Bolling Beimesch, Barbara K.
Appeared in: Information services & use
Paging: Volume 2 (2013) nr. 1 pages 35-40
Year: 2013-12-19
Contents: Prompted by the rush of technology related to information storage, retrieval and analysis, the traditional technical library or information center library is no longer the appropriate focal point for information input. Rather, an organizational ‘network’ of information managers who are divisionally assigned can be a more strategically positioned focus to contribute essential information inputs for decision making. Another important benefit of an information manager network structure is the enhancement of career options to all associated with the network.
