  Systematic organizational communication and compunication

Titel: Systematic organizational communication and compunication
Auteur: Charalambides, Leonidas C.
Verschenen in: Human systems management
Paginering: Jaargang 5 (2013) nr. 4 pagina's 309-321
Jaar: 2013-06-14
Inhoud: The essence of an individual's personality or a group's culture is the underlying ‘mindset’ or ‘worldview’. It is the primary determinant of the manner in which a problem subject makes as well as communicates assumptions about the future behavior of his stakeholders. This process is crucial to the successful dissolution of ill-structured (i.e., strategic) organizational problems. The systems worldview has long been recognized as being superior to the analytical. However, organizations face many obstacles in evolving from the latter to the former. Most have to do with the prevailing corporate languages which emphasize content rather than context. A Conceptualization/Communication/Creativity Support System (CSS) will be the main vehicle for the creation of such a language. It will be a computer and communication (‘compunication’) hardware and software system that will help managers think and communicate systemically even though they may be working analytically.
