Doctoral students and researchers worldwide face the publish or perish challenge.Given that the researchers are evaluated by their productivity, publishing in indexedand reputed journals is essential. However, this is not an easy task, as therejection rates are increasing, as are the lead time between submission andacceptance for publication. In this paper we seek to identify the main motives forrejection of Brazilian articles in the business administration discipline by international academic journals. We also advance some clues on how the authors mayimprove their work towards future publication. This paper is descriptive andexploratory, and takes on a qualitative, refl exive and critical lens. We presentsome recommendations of both international referees and editors of well knownacademic journals, geared to the writing of higher quality papers and the creationof a research pipeline. We aim at contributing to understand how researchers maydevelop more relevant scientific research. |
