Inhoud: Removal of Erichrome Black T has been carried out by using mosambi peel activated carbon as an adsorbent. The adsorption was studied as a function of contact time, concentration and pH. The effect of various experimental parameters has been investigated at 39 ± 1°C under batch adsorption technique. The technique was found to be very useful and cost effective for a better removal of dye. The equilibrium data fit well with both Langmuir and Freundlich models of adsorption. The value of separation factor RL was found to be 0.235 suggesting the isotherm to be favorable at the concentration studied. The removal efficiency increase as adsorbent dose increases. The overall result shows that mosambi peel activated carbon can be fruitfully used for the removal of dye from aqueous solutions.
