This research work presents the unrelated parallel machine non-common due date scheduling problem, for jobs with varying processing times, where the objective is to minimize the completion time of jobs. An enhanced Ant Colony Algorithm procedure identifies the best sequences for the different set of jobs. The job size ranges from 10 to 100 and the unrelated parallel machine environment consists of 2 to 8 machines. The experimental results of all set of jobs and machines have been presented. It has been found that the suggested optimization procedure outperforms the existing heuristics in arriving at the optimal solution. |
