Contents: Convergence of technologies is important in this era to make progress in any field. The need to converge technologies arises from the concept of improvisation. This paper proposes a system architecture which is used to diagnose vehicle parameters and then relay the data via a feasible next generation network based on IMS architecture to a central server. Vehicles are to be equipped with a simple portable scan tool (PST) device which will interface with the OBD-II port of the vehicle and record the diagnostic data and relay them to the server. Further if the vehicle owner wants real time remote updates of the vehicle then it can be done by using his/her cellular device. IMS architecture simplifies the process of user registration and help in achieving faster transmission speed. Lastly various secondary applications can be generated by this system as by using thissystem the vehicles are getting connected on a grid.
