Year: 1998
Contents: The experiments were conducted in artificially constructed water ponds during the months of May-July, 1994. Both the macrophytes were treated with different concentrations of salts commonly used in textile processing units. Chemical and biochemical analyses were made at the end of the experiment. Na+ concentration of the aqueous medium was more crucial. Which also interfered with the Ca+2, Mg+2 and K+ percentage of the plant. There was a positive correlation of concentrations in the aqueous medium and their accumulation in the case of Na+ and Cl-. Nitrogen in aqueous medium increased the crude protein status at lower levels of treatment.
