Contents: To evaluate the effect of different substrates in intensive organic garden in cropping secuence cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)-pepper (Capsicum annuum L. var. chay), one experiment was conducted at Universidad de Ciego de Avila, Cuba. The following organic sources were used in organic garden: filter-cake (control), organic-mineral fertilizer, compost, compost enriched with partially acidulated phosphate rocks, compost enriched with triple super phosphate and earthworm humus. Organic garden observations were made on final chemical soil analysis, yield and its components. The plants that receive compost enriched with triple super phosphate (9.35 cm) and filter-cake (9.43 cm) had the greater fruit length. There was no difference in the diameter (3.08 cm to 3.17 cm) and quality of the fruits between the different treatments. The organic-mineral fertilizer application increased soil P concentration up to 124 mg P2O5 Kg-1 soil. The plants that receive earthworm humus had the greater fruit weight (11.1 Kg) and yield (59.3 t ha-1). The results showed that the best substrates, from agronomic and economic points of view, were compost enriched with partially acidulated phosphate rocks, compost enriched with triple super phosphate and earthworm humus. The economic evaluation of the results demonstrated the advantage of the use of processed organic fertilizers with earthworm humus with the most earnings.
