The specific effects of varying the zeolite/matrix ratio in the fluid catalyticcracking (FCC) and the catalyst effectson activity and selectivity for lightcycle oil (LCO) yield from the crackingof feedstocks of different physicochemicalcharacteristics , were studiedusing a microactivity test (MAT) andtwo feedstocks, aliphatic and naphthenic.With a naphthenic feedstock,highest conversions, gasoline, LCO,dry gas and LPG yields are obtainedby increasing zeolite/matrix ratio.Diminishment in slurry yield and inthe quality of LCO due to the contentof aromatics in LCO are also obtained.With aliphatic feedstock conversions,dry gas, LPG, gasoline and coke yieldsare improved; LCO and slurry yieldsare decreased with the increased useof zeolite in the catalyst. The qualityof LCO is improved with aliphaticfeedstocks; however, zeolite produceda negative effect on this quality. |
