Inhoud: In the fabrication of Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) devices, electrodeposition has an edge over other deposition technologies. CoNiP magnetic film is one, which widely used in devices based on magnetic properties. CoNiP film can be electrodeposited from electrolytes having the required chemicals. In this study we attempted to electrodeposit CoNiP film from a bath containing ammonium chloride and two type of phosphorous source material. The electrodeposited coatings were subjected to elemental analysis using Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS). To know their magnetic properties such as coercivity and remanent, films were subjected to Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). Surface characterizations of these films were elucidated using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) techniques. Hardness and adhesion of the coating were also examined. From the results a bath containing sodium hyphophophite exhibits good properties which are required for a coating to be used in MEMS devices.
