This article made a revision about the psychopatology of Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD). This disorder present chronics symptoms in attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity and have interference whith social, academic and occupational development. Usually manifests itself before the child is 7 years old, and at least 75% will continue to suffer from the disorder in adulthood. AD/HD affects between 3% and 5% of grade-school children; epidemiological studies in Colombia indicate that affects around 15%. The disorder is more common in boys than in girls. Present significance comorbidity whith learning disabilities, oppositional behaviors, defiance, aggression, conduct problems and neuropsychological deficits. This disorder have multiple causal associations within genetic, perinatal factors, frontal lobe dysfunction, irregularity in alfa, theta and delta activity, dopamine and norepinefrina hypofunctioning, and due to a motivational inhibitory control deficit.
