Recently, poultry industry is the most discussed sector in the world. Especially,due to bird flu, it falls the sector in a difficult situation which has a big portion inthe Turkish economy, made it more important than ever.Such a sector must be examined more carefully, especially in a country likeTurkey, where deficit in balance of payment creating a notable problem eachyear. Sector not only covers the lack of protein for the Turkish people cheaply, but also provides income by export. According to the forecasts concerning thefuture of the poultry sector, which has so much contribution margin, will spendoncoming periods with efforts of structurization and public relations, trying tofind new foreing markets to gain financial power and will have a intensivecompetition in domestic markets.In this paper, the situation of poultry sector which had became important forTurkish economy is studied from production, consumption, export and importpoint of view, and examined to answer by manifesting the problems.
