Contents: The type of work done by Turkish workers ischanging, with the globalization of economicstructure of world. Especially with the informationand service sectors being the main resource of newemployment in the last years. The way people workis also changing with a strong movement in sectors.Since 1950’s a great number of population havemigrated from rural to urban areas as well as fromless developed regions to regions. This raises greatconcerns in terms of job security, job content, skillsobcolescenses and relationship between workingand living patterns. İn this sense, it is going to bediscussed Turkish employment politics with inconcern of the European Union politics. During thelast 30 years, we have witnessed an informationand communication technology revolution, not onlyin highly developed industrial societies but evendeveloping societies. It means that thesedevelopments are reshaping work, skill structuresand the organization of enterprises.Through this, they are bringing fundementalchange to the labour market, and to society as awhole. The new pace of change, and modes of production it engenders, require broader-basedskills and new production processes to respond toconstanty changing market demands. İn thisprocesses of changing work structure, in the futurenot only highly educated worker will find a job, butjobs are going to be served by well trained workers.May be traditional or manual jobs will remain, buttheir relative importance will decline in very recentyears.İn brief trends in Turkey, female and male laborforce participation are outlined, particularly postWorld War II period with in the concern of globalchanges, urbanization and division of labor insectors. Potential causes of these trends are thandiscussed, both those that operate on the demandside those that operate on the supply side of labormarket along with the discussion of the E.U.approaches to modeling the employment.
