Inhoud: The aim of this study was to analyze and compare the level of maximal strength, muscular endurance and body composition before and after 4 weeks of resistance training. Ten voluntaries of women genre they had been selected (26.50 ± 6.41 yr; 57.06 ± 6.48 kg; 24.03 ± 5.72 %F.M.) with minimum 3 month of training in resistance exercise. The body composition was estimate in bioimpedance balance (Tanita®). The maximal strength was determined for one repetition maximum (1-RM) test and the muscular endurance for maximal repetition at 50% 1-RM. The results demonstrate significant increases in maximal strength for bench press (before - 25 ± 6.82 vs after - 29.40 ± 8.17 kg; p=0.000034) and squat (before - 41.6 ± 8.68 vs after - 69 ± 15.47 kg; p=0.000004). The number of maximal repetitions at 50% 1-RM was increase significant only squat exercise (before - 29.30 ± 15.20 vs after - 37 ± 16.42; p=0.01). Body composition was unchanged. We concluded that 4 week of resistance training was effective for to improve the maximal strength and muscular endurance in moderately trained women.
