Paging: Volume 1 (2009) nr. 3 pages 15-19
Year: 2009
Contents: In animal in-vivo study, we have reported some significant changes such as reduced sperm counts, degeneration ofseminiferous epithelium and interstitial leydig cells in the testicle. Therefore human study was designed to assess theeffects of artemether on some biochemical parameters in individuals treated with artemether. Moderate and transientside effects were observed after administration. This implies that administration of artemether is still tolerated and themoderate side effects are not comparable with the debilitating effects of malaria infection it is meant to cure.Artemisinine is still a tolerable antimalaria drug with no major side effects on human.
