Sustainability in the historical towns can be realized to obtain the physical and socio-cultural conservation andadditionally city aesthetics. While the urban planning and design effects on the physical health of human, the cityaesthetic effects on the human’s mental health. The aesthetic in urban areas generally is defined the beauty andthe reflections of the beauty on the emotions of human. In addition to these, it’s also changeable according to thecharacteristics of the users.In the context of this research, it has been aimed to investigate Bartın City that is a member of Union ofHistorical Towns according to the city aesthetics, to increase the efficiency of municipality, to improve thequality of life the city has. The pedestrian area on the center of Bartın has been selected as a case area. The studyhas been carried out six steps as follows: to search literature, to apply questionnaires, to analyze area, tointerview with related actors, data analysis and evaluation, conclusion and recommendations. In the study, theconclusions related to the study have been shown; the recommendations about the increasing life qualities inBartın are developed. In this scope, “the Unit of City Aesthetic” in historical towns in the organization ofmunicipality has been recommended.
