Each is known from restricted áreas in northwestern North America. <i>Grimmia alternuata</i> and <i>G. procera</i> are synonyms of <i>G. arcuatifolia</i><br><br>Se reconoce a <i>Grimmia arcuatifolia</i> y <i>G. leibergii</i> como especies independientes. Ambas crecen en áreas limitadas del noroeste de Norteamérica. <i>Grimmia alternuata</i> y <i>G. procera</i> son sinónimos de <i>G. arcuatifolia</i>
