Year: 2007
Contents: Pot experiment was conducted under glasshouse conditions during 2005 at the Arid Land Research Center, Tottori University in Tottori, Japan. The study presented here was aimed to evaluating the response of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L) Moench), density under two different water qualities. The investigation was carried out in randomized complete block design experiments located in a plastic greenhouse. Crop growth was temporal varied with crop density and water quality. The statistical parameters; mean, median, CV, and the PCV, for the time series LWP data indicated the impact of sorghum density and water quality, on osmotic stress was best discriminated by PCV, followed by CV, median, and mean. The impact of different sorghum density on stresses under good water quality was similar trend to the impact of salinity under low density. The time series analysis for LWP indicated that PCV best statistical parameter to discriminate the impacts of stress under different water quality. The grain yield was significantly influenced by plant density regardless of water quality. Electrical conductivity was also affected by water quality as well as by plant density.
