Este artigo apresenta um estudo das possibilidades de a Literatura ampliar o conhecimento de determinados contextos históricos produzido pelas Ciências Sociais. Concluiu-se que essa possibilidade torna-se real quando o escritor recorre a análises realizadas pelas Ciências Sociais a fim de operar com circunstâncias, personagens e interaçõessociais típicas do contexto que irá servir de pano de fundo para a sua obra. O contexto escolhido para este estudo foi o sertão do Brasil no período da República Oligárquica, que vai da proclamação do novo regime à revolução de 30; e a obra selecionada, A hora e a vez deAugusto Matraga, de Guimarães Rosa. This article presents a study of possibilities that the Literature offers to expand the knowledge of determined historical and social contexts produced by the Social Sciences. The conclusion shows that this possibility becomes real when the writer resorts to analyses done by the Social Sciences in order to operate with typical circumstances, typical characters and typical social interactions of the context that is going to serve as scenery for the author’s work. The context chosen for this study was Brazil's backcountry in the period so called Oligarchical Republic, dating back to the new regime proclamation until the 1930s revolution; and the work selected is A hora e a vez de Augusto Matraga, by Guimarães Rosa. |
