The Coincidence of Reform: Charter School Diversity in a Standards-Based World

Title: The Coincidence of Reform: Charter School Diversity in a Standards-Based World
Author: Carpenter, Dick M.
Appeared in: Journal of school choice
Paging: Volume 2 (2008) nr. 2 pages 93-114
Year: 2008-07-18
Contents: Diversity was and remains a central feature of charter schools, but some question if this is possible in an environment of standards, assessment, and accountability. Using a newly created charter school typology, this article examines charter diversity, measured by new school creation, from 1994 to 2002. Results indicate the charter landscape grew more diverse throughout the 1990s rather than less.
