  An Interaction of Two Resiliencies

Title: An Interaction of Two Resiliencies
Author: Munschauer, Carol Ann
Appeared in: International journal of psychoanalytic self psychology
Paging: Volume 1 (2006) nr. 4 pages 465-474
Year: 2006-10-01
Contents: This discussion is based on the framework of Specificity Theory, which stresses that it is the interaction between the individualilty of each member of the analytic dyad that determines the effectiveness of the therapeutic process. The fit (both capabilities and limitations) between a particular patient's psychological needs and a particular analyst's capacity to respond effectively to them, and vice versa, determines the course of each, unique treatment. The author discusses the case from within the dyad of Carlton and Renee and then offers speculations about how the treatment might have proceeded had the analyst's own subjectivity been different.
