Title: Factors Influencing Entry Mode Choices: Empirical Findings from an International Hotel Organisation
Author: Altinay, Levent
Appeared in: Journal of hospitality marketing & management
Paging: Volume 12 (2005) nr. 3 pages 5-28
Year: 2005-09-30
Contents: This paper presents a set of empirical findings about the factors influencing the entry mode choices of an international hotel company. A case study approach was chosen for this study to investigate these issues and the data was collected utilising interviews, observations and secondary resources regarding the hotel organisation. The findings of this study reveal that capital markets, host-country hotel markets, customers and organisation-specific characteristics play a determinant role in the expansion plan, more specifically in the modal choice of the hotel organisation. This paper evaluates these factors and discusses their influence on the entry mode choices.
