Conducting feasibility and market demand studies can be a problem in rural areas. Local data is often not available and information in published reports is usually not comparable due to differences in market areas. This article describes a step-by-step procedure that was used in a rural market to estimate the demand for a proposed conference facility. A specific example of how the procedure was used to estimate demand for one of the market segments that could potentially be served by a conference center is provided. |
