Multiple AIDS-related loss compared to historic tragedies with a discussion of the similarities and dissimilarities. Conventional theories about grief and diagnostic categories about trauma are not adequate to encompass this phenomenon. What are traditionally considered pathological grief symptoms in single-event bereavements are the regular responses among multiple loss survivors.
