Ninety-nine adult Latino Spanish speaking participants in a court mandated psychotherapeutic group program for parents whose children have been sexually abused were administered a love-attitudes scale. The men in the study are the abusers. Analysis of gender difference showed that the mean scores and endorsement patterns deviated from those in earlier research with non-sexual child-abusing males. The sexually-abusive-to-children Latino men scored significantly higher on eros and agape than women. Further research is suggested among dominant and other ethnic groups for comparative purposes. |
