This study reports the findings of an assessment of the relationship between factors associated with a retirement condominium complex, individual human characteristics of retirement-aged people, the decision-making process involved in purchasing a condominium and purchasers of such a condominium. The relationships that were identified focused on age and marital status of the purchaser of a retirement condominium as well as the influence of family members in the decision-making process. As to the setting itself, cost, safety-security and location issues were identified as most important in the minds of the purchasers. These factors should be emphasized in the marketing efforts of other similar projects. The characteristics of actual purchasers of retirement condominiums should also be considered by marketers in order to more clearly define the target market. |
