A library performance assessment project mandates a commitment of manpower, resources, time, and energy. Nonetheless, the information generated from user satisfaction surveys provides vital feedback for future program decisions. The University of South Florida Health Sciences Center Library's (USF/HSCL) successful experience with data collection, one phase in a quality assurance cycle, demonstrates that a basic plan of action envisioned at project initiation facilitates survey implementation. This article offers a methodology that will enable libraries to simplify the planning and execution phases of performance assessment. The USF/HSCL survey instrument is included. |
