Georgetown University's Developing Foreign Law Policy and Its Implications for Providing Reference Service

Title: Georgetown University's Developing Foreign Law Policy and Its Implications for Providing Reference Service
Author: Schaffer, Ellen G.
Appeared in: Legal reference services quarterly
Paging: Volume 9 (1989) nr. 1-2 pages 121-126
Year: 1989-07-11
Contents: Law libraries which acquire foreign legal materials often have difficulty collecting at a com r, rehensive level when focusing on a large number of countries. The Georgetown University Law Library resolved this problem by setting very clear limits on the countries for which it would purchase or retain materials. Such a policy has serious public service consequences, however, and calls for an even greater reliance on bibliographic tools for locating resources not available in the collection.
